Nice long walk-thru video of Civ V over at Gamespot 2 weeks till release is still too long
September 21st just can’t get here fast enough. Civ V is set to release then and I just want it NOW!
But until then you can enjoy this video (below) of a nice long walkthru from Firaxis that Gamespot posted on the 8th. It’s got a good amount of info about the changes to the game and show how nice the interface looks as well as the terrain too.
Here is a list of some of the changes for the new version;
- Tiles changed from squares to Hex’s
- One unit per tile– no more stacks of doom. I love this change b/c it’s more strategic now
- More focus on money and purchasing things…including expansion of your empire tiles.
- Also using Culture points to upgrade civic
- Updated AI for opponents
- New City-states which influence gameplay with yourself and opponents
- improved editor tool for making maps
I am extremely excited about this version. I really hope it comes to live up to the hype and the expectation of the masses and is a great time killer. They have gone out of their way to make sure they learned a lot of what worked from Civ Revolutions (from console/ hand helds) and Civ IV.
Well here is the video. It is SFW so don’t worry about cursing etc.
ENJOY (thanks to Gamespot.com for the great posting and great content lately).
