Before I post the video of Mikael Granlund’s amazing goal at the world tournament I want to pass along some devastating news.

This evening I saw the story about Derek Boogaard found dead in his home, at this time no mention of the cause of his death. He may have been a goon and he may have been on the hated Rangers, but he was always regarded as one of the nicest guys off the ice (as the majority of hockey players especially the enforcers are). My utmost condolances to his family friends, teammates and loved ones. I wish them the best in this time of grief.

Now onto the world tourney. Today Finland beat Russia en route to a finals match up with Sweeden. But that’s not the news… the real news is the circus goal by Mikael Granlund. We usually see these goals in high school hockey or by 9 year olds in between periods at NHL games, but here in a world tourney? Wow that’s balls for sure…. See for yourself.
