Pumpkins at the house… Almost time for the carving!
Ok so maybe it’s about 2 weeks away but the preparations are already started. First and foremost for anyone who wonders, I have ZERO artistic talent. I can’t draw a stick figure at all. Yet one thing I have gotten pretty good at is carving pumpkins. Sure, it’s basically take a stencil and throw it on a pumpkin cut and go, but I happen to think it’s more then that. With a few years of doing it and accumulating more tools and more techniques, I think I am getting pretty good. Granted, I am not as good as some of these books you see out there and don’t sign me up for any food network Challenge show, but I enjoy what I do.
The beautiful wife and I usually go to a bunch of places around town early in the Halloween season to see what new and good stencil books are out there. This year I picked up a few new ones so hopefully there will be some good things to work with. Not quite as many new ones as I would like but eh we will have to see what I can find in the next two weeks before the big day of the carve fest. If anyone knows of some good ones online (free) or what stores have some good books please let me know!
Here are two of my past works. (One is a bit blurry sorry, can’t seem to find the good picture of it) If I can find the others I will try and edit the post later— I think Mrs. Geekjock might know where those files are located.
